The Struggles of Turning a Quarter Century

The Struggle of turning 25!

There are so many things one has to think about when they are forced to be reminded that they are turning 25

We have the standard responsibilities of making sure they have a solid full-time job with benefits, a boyfriend who will probably ending up being "the one", their own place, the list goes on and on.

I do believe times have changed and that this age isn't a checkpoint anymore where one has to make sure they have all of those things listed above in order to feel like they have made it. I assume several people my age feel like it is just the beginning of the race of life.

Honestly I am almost 25, I still live at home, I haven't found "the RIGHT one" yet, and I don't own or rent my own place. Do I feel like I haven't made it? NO!

I have to remind myself that I do what I need to start this race and that when the times right I will be prepared and happy to RUN to my new adventures.( I am comparing my life to a marathon..ha-ha)

I have to pat myself on the back for the accomplishments I have made:

  • I graduated college with a Bachelors Degree.
  • I found a full time job that I am valued at.
  • I have traveled 22,202 miles in the last year!
  • I have an amazing family!
  • I have even more amazing friends!
That said, I recently got that  "move out" itch. I do work locally so it gets hard to look past the fact that I can live home for 1/4 of the rent, get free meals, love and licks from my dog, etc! I recently made the spontaneous decision to hire an awesome realtor and family friend with my best friend to look at what is available out there in the local market. It was hard! There are so many things to factor in. Issues such as location, parking, style, space, etc. We have made the decision to wait until the spring market hits! We weren't in <3 with anything so far and don't want to rush into anything quite yet. Below is our favorite so far!

FUN FAQ:

My home decor obsession?
For the past year or so I have started to fall in love with mercury glass. I have slowly started to collect random pieces. I purchased that lamp for a steal at my favorite home goods store Kirklands.

WEST COAST.

EWR TO LAX
1st Work Trip of 2014
Long Beach, CA

In the industry I am in there are several trade shows that concentrate solely on the screen-printing and promo industry.  These shows feature anything from thousand dollar screen-printing machines to blank clothing to print on. That is where I come in! I showcase our line of neon pigment dyed apparel in about 9 different styles. We are set to launch our earth tones line in late February.  The clothing is most popular in the Greek and promotional products arenas so i often travel to the companies that specialize in that clientele to show off our products hoping they will use them in there effort to get the print job.

Panoramic view of Venice Beach, CA. A pit stop on the way to Long Beach.

See left for the standard booth set up I help to construct at each show. We collect leads and hand out catalogs to hundreds of our possible customers.

FUN FAQ:

Can I buy you a drink?

Other than a good beer, i love me some whiskey. Being of Irish/Scottish descent i love some good old Irish whiskey. My favorite being Jameson. I have on many occasions thought about naming my first kid Jameson. HA-HA On my latest trip to Long Beach, CA my good friend snagged some drink vouchers. Don't mind if do.
